Virginia’s General Assembly rejects REAL ID provisions

At first blush you might think that this is good news as well:

But all she is realing saying is that they are going to drop REAL ID by name only and now call it EDLs. EDLs are worse in many ways than REAL ID, the RFID is already mandated in the EDLs, and the data gets shared with Canada and Mexico. DHS bureacrats determine all the standards with EDLs. Nothing really has changed, EDLs were always their plan B from the beginning.
